أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ {Does mankind think that they will be left to say, “We believe”, and that they will not be tested?}

أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ {Does mankind think that they will be left to say, “We believe”, and that they will not be tested?}.

I Believe

But I’m terrified to be tested;

convinced hitherto i will fail Thee.

Bereft of being close to You.

Those patient souls who

persevere every affliction with blooming devotion,

sans giving up on God;

I marvel with envy, if their strength

comes from somewhere within their hearts

which might have encountered You in every second of their enduring;

Alas, my heart is afraid that it will have to suffer,

And my mind knows You will never burden a soul beyond what it can bear

But that is the flaw of my heart-

it doesn’t have a mind.

In truth, this creation is not heroic enough

to pursue You at the price of adversity;

Forgive me ya Ghaffar, I was,

verily, created weak.

I will find my way out of this labyrinth, this dead spirituality,

And enlighten what is dark in me.

My purpose lies in passing

this test 

of being untested;

ergo                                                                                                                                                        

winning Thee in the quest for myself.
