Ever paused for a minute and thought about the blessing of shadows in life?
Not metaphorically; I mean real literal shadows.
Perhaps in our subconscious minds, we have appreciated the coolness of a shade on a hot sunny day? Perhaps we have taken a few photos of our shadows jumping up in the air with our friends or holding hands of our beloved…But how mind boggling is it to actually think of shadow, as a creation of Allah SWT, and as a blessing for us?
Do they not look at Allah.s creation, (even) among (inanimate) things,- How their (very) shadows turn round, from the right and the left, prostrating themselves to Allah, and that in the humblest manner? [Surah An-Nahl, 48]
It is Allah Who made out of the things He created, some things to give you shade; of the hills He made some for your shelter; He made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence.Thus does He complete His favours on you, that ye may bow to His Will (in Islam). [Surah An-Nahl, 81]
Have you not considered your Lord – how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication. [Surah Furqan, 45]
And what a thirst for shade would it be, on that day, when there will be NO shade, except whom Allah SWT will bring under the shade of His throne! Ya rabb!
